Hello!

I'm Hannah Brown and right now, I am deep in the last thickets for This Female City :

These inter-related short stories mostly happen in Toronto's Annex. The title story includes this, from one of the narrators:

"That was my idea, that Toronto was female. All the ravines the city plunges into, green and hidden. How they give the city life."

And from another narrator, the last line of the last story: "as the path was narrow and crowded by budding bushes and overhanging trees, and curious young bittersweet vines, wild and new— like us, l thought, like anything new to this city."

When you just arrived in Toronto, wasn't that like you? Wild and new?
